Two heritages. One kitchen.
Krisons brings together the bold, fiery spices of Jamaica and the deep, rich comfort of Hungary, refined by decades in some of the UK and Europe's finest kitchens. The food we grew up with, grown up.
We call it Hungaribbean. Jerk chicken cooked over lava rocks sits on the same menu as veal paprikash, and rice and peas shares the pass with nokedli and lángos. It's a small, friendly dining room just off West Street, and we'd love to cook for you.

A taste of the menu
Every dish is built from scratch in our kitchen, using produce from farms and suppliers on our doorstep.
Authentic jerk chicken
Chicken thighs marinated for 12 hours in our signature spice blend, cooked over lava rocks for a rich, deep, smoky flavour.
Veal paprikash
Milk fed veal neck, slowly braised in a rich, velvety sweet paprika sauce, finished with soured cream.
Jamaican curry goat
Goat from OS Farming in Crewkerne, marinated overnight and cooked in a rich gravy with ginger, scotch bonnet and our house made spice blend.
MEET KRIS AND SONIA
A Michelin trained chef and a lifelong host
Kris trained in Budapest and spent years in multi Rosette and Michelin starred kitchens across Hungary and the UK. Sonia's career runs from silver service at school to Restaurant General Manager for a national hospitality group.
For more than a decade they worked towards a restaurant of their own. Krisons is that restaurant.

Birthdays, Christmas parties, christenings and wakes. Book an event and the dining room is yours, for up to 30 guests, with a menu we put together with you.
COMING IN 2027
The hidden oasis
The moment we stepped outside, we knew. Next year we'll bring the outdoor space fully back to life, with an outdoor kitchen, a sunny patio and a bustling decking area, the way this old Axminster property was always meant to be.
Until then, the dining room is open and the welcome is warm.

Where is Krisons?
Krisons is at 11 Miltons Yard, Axminster, Devon EX13 5FE. We're just behind the convenience store and post office, off the Tesco walkway. Look out for the statue of the farmer and his cow.
What kind of food does Krisons serve?
Hungarian and Jamaican food, which we call Hungaribbean. Expect jerk chicken cooked over lava rocks and Jamaican curry goat alongside Hungarian dishes like veal paprikash, with sides such as rice and peas, nokedli and lángos.
When is Krisons open?
Tuesday 6pm to 9pm, Wednesday and Thursday 12pm to 2pm and 6pm to 9pm, and Friday and Saturday 12pm to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm. We're closed on Sunday and Monday. Last bookings are at 8.30pm.
Do I need to book?
We recommend it. We cook everything fresh and buy for the bookings we have, so booking ahead means we can look after you properly. Book online for up to 5 guests, or call 01297 441939 for groups of 6 or more.
